Palm Beach Chamber Music Festival - a 501(c) 3 organization, the Palm
Beach Chamber Music Festival was formed in 1992 by musicians Karen Dixon,
Michael Ellert and Michael Forte. The Festival's mission is to
provide Palm Beach County audiences with classical concerts of the
highest quality and give our fine local musicians the opportunity to
play the great chamber music literature during the summer
months. Although the organization has grown over the years,
all artistic decisions are still made by the musicians themselves.
Serving the people of the greater Palm Beach area, the Palm Beach Chamber Music
Festival enjoys performing for over 2000 loyal patrons annually
in venues throughout Palm Beach County. Primarily a summer concert series,
the group also performs at private functions throughout the year.
Thanks to a grant from the Palm Beach Cultural
Council, the Festival has also added an educational component to its schedule. Through the
Festival's "How to Assemble a Chamber Music Ensemble" program,
musicians from the group perform for and coach Palm Beach County
student groups and have provided student ensembles the opportunity to perform at Festival
concerts. In addition, students may attend Festival rehearsals and
concerts free of charge.
The Palm Beach
Chamber Music Festival enjoys a longstanding relationship with Klavier Music
Productions and has recorded six compact discs under the name Chamber Music
Palm Beach.
